Fortunately, the colonialism in the country has been eradicated. With the advent of a pure Islamic system, numerous educational institutions have been established in different parts of the country to provide quality services to the people in the field of knowledge, which has a special place in Islamic law, and to train professionals who can benefit society in both worldly and hereafter. This is an important feature of the Islamic system, which in all cases considers the worldly benefits of society as well as the hereafter.

Therefore, establishing quality Sharia faculties in the field of Sharia sciences and expanding modern research in Sharia sciences is an important jurisprudential principle, and in order to be committed to this principle, we strive to carry out quality academic and research activities, so that we can find solutions to new cases within the framework of Hanafi jurisprudence and provide the society with qualified preachers through new curricula and new teaching methods.

Background

Based on the proposal of the Ministry of Higher Education and order number 1, page 135, Lunar date 1443/08/26 of the administrative assistant of the Prime Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, the Faculty of Sharia has been innovated and has begun to academically operate ever since at Logar University. Its teaching affairs have been carried out by 12 academic cadres. Nowadays, this faculty has about 300 students who are keeping their studies up on this academic foundation.

Vision

The Faculty of Sharia is determined to become a prominent scientific-research foundation in the field of Sharia and Islamic Law in the next five years.

Mission

In accordance with Islamic tradition and culture, the Faculty of Sharia trains and presents professional and committed cadres to society in jurisprudence, law, and Islamic studies departments.

Objectives

  1. Research comparison of jurisprudence and legal topics in the light of the country’s applicable laws and tradition
  2. To provide and present scientific and professional staff to the community in the areas of justice, judiciary, legislation, education, guidance and dawa
  3. Educating the new generation on Islamic and national values
  4. Creating innovations in research and education
  5. Creating opportunities for professional and academic capacity building of teachers
  6. Spreading the value of Sharia Faculty in the society
  7. Fighting against all kinds of prejudice and discrimination
  8. Revision and development of curriculum according to society and market needs
  9. Providing quality teaching and educational services with the help of new technology

Message of the Chancellor of Logar University
