Message from the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of all worlds. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), his family, and his companions.
The Faculty of Agriculture at Logar University was established in 2019 (1398 Hijri Solar Year) with the Departments of Agricultural Economics and Extension, and Agronomy. It began its academic and administrative operations with six instructors. Since its establishment and despite numerous challenges, the faculty has continuously contributed to the Islamic and professional education of the young generation in the country. Hundreds of young graduates, equipped with professional knowledge and specialized skills, have been produced from these departments and introduced to society. By the year 2025 (1404 H.S.), the Faculty of Agriculture has successfully graduated 156 students in Agronomy and Agricultural Economics and Extension with strong Islamic and professional foundations.
Improving the agricultural system, delivering globally recognized academic and research services, promoting innovation in faculties, preventing corruption, expanding research activities, investing in capacity building, and other key goals are among the fundamental objectives of the Ministry of Higher Education of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan. Realizing these goals through the development of a strong, committed, and professional human workforce will significantly contribute to the self-reliance of the country's agricultural sector, which in turn carries messages of economic and scientific growth.
As a respected academic institution, the Faculty of Agriculture is making every effort within its capacity to demonstrate its capability and, in coordination with the university and its leadership, to move forward toward the realization of these goals. To achieve this, the faculty has developed a structured, logical, and resource-based strategic plan for the years 2025–2029 (1404–1408 H.S.). This strategic plan comprehensively outlines the faculty's vision, mission, values, objectives, opportunities, threats, strengths, weaknesses, organizational structure, available resources, and other relevant areas.
It is worth noting that this five-year strategic plan is fully aligned with the strategic objectives and priorities of Logar University, the Ministry of Higher Education, and the legal and policy frameworks of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan. We are confident that, within the next five years, the Faculty of Agriculture will respond wisely, timely, and logically to all agricultural developments.
The leadership of the Faculty of Agriculture believes that the faculty's academic staff will exert tireless efforts with full commitment, honesty, insight, strength, faith, national dedication, and sincerity to implement this plan. They will respond to challenges in a timely manner and take effective steps in seizing and utilizing available opportunities. Logar University looks forward to the support of the Ministry of Higher Education, Afghan society, and all relevant institutions for the successful implementation of this strategic plan. We expect them to cooperate in delivering standardized and inclusive academic services, fulfilling social responsibilities, contributing to community development, and actively participating in the country's reconstruction. We are confident that they will continue to stand by us as they have in the past.
It must be mentioned that the Faculty of Agriculture, with its capable human resources and relatively sufficient physical and financial resources, believes it can fulfill its mission promptly. Through the genuine education of the nation's brave sons, it will significantly contribute to national reconstruction and scientific advancement thereby fulfilling its promises to the struggling people and discharging its religious, moral, and national responsibilities.
We do not forget that the path to progress and prosperity is neither easy nor swift. However, we are certain that the buds of our strong and unbreakable willpower will blossom. In doing so, we give meaning to our organizational life and do not allow external conditions to define our identity and purpose.
In conclusion, I find it necessary to extend heartfelt appreciation to the respected members of the Faculty of Agriculture's committee for their tireless efforts and sincere contributions in formulating this strategic plan. I raise my hands in prayer to the Eternal and Almighty Lord to accept their efforts as acts of worship and make them a source of blessing for the Islamic world.
