Vision

The department of English language and literature is going to educate professional and talented personalities who will be able to fulfill the needs of the society in the English language realm at the national level.

Mission

The overall mission of the English department is to promote literacy—especially the ability to read, write and speak in the English language.

Background of the Department

The Department of English Language and Literature was entered into the framework of the Faculty of Education as a non-graduate department based on the approval of (5) number 15/08/1398 dated (17) of the Supreme Council of Civil Higher Education Institutions. The teachers were appointed on 15/02/1400 and started their activities after this date. The aforementioned department currently has three Junior Teaching Assistant Lecturers among which Rafiullah Mahjoor is acting as the acting Head of the Department.

1. Providing quality education in English language and literature to students with the help of modern educational equipment.

2. Conducting capacity building programs for department members and students.

3. Providing various English language programs to teachers of other faculties of Logar Institute of Higher Education in order to increase their knowledge level in their profession with the help of English language.

4. Encouraging students to conduct researches in the field of English language.

Profiles of the Academic Cadre Members of English Language and Literature Department

 

Profile of Junior Teaching Assistant Rafiullah Mahjoor

An academic cadre member of the Department of English Language and Literature of Logar Institute of Higher Education, Junior Teaching Assistant Rafiullah Mahjoor, son of Jamaluddin, was born into a pious family in the 8th zone of Jalalabad city, Afghanistan. After his primary and middle school studies, he graduated from Mohammadi Sahibzada High School with the best grades. He was passed to Nangarhar Teacher Training College, English Language and Literature Department, through the Kankoor Examination in 1395. Then he went to Nangarhar University, Faculty of Languages and Literature, Department of English Language and Literature, after passing a specialized entry test. He then graduated from the mentioned department in 1398. After a three-month interval, Mr. Mahjoor landed a position as an English language instructor at Alfalah (Private) University through a three-stage test. Having completed his around 2-year mission at Alfalah University, Mr. Mahjoor was hired as a lecturer at the Department of English Language and Literature, Education Faculty, Logar Institute of Higher Education in the year 1399 through an open competitive exam. He has ever since been busy with educating the children of the nation.

 

Profile of Junior Teacing Assistant Noor Jamal Mubarakzai

Noor Jamal Mubarakzai, an academic cadre member of the Department of English Language and Literature of the education faculty, was born on 6/3/1992 in a pious family in Kohseen Khano khil village in Sayed Karam district of Paktia Province. He completed his primary education at Bangash High School and completed his secondary education at Samkanai High School. He graduated from Samkanai Central High School in 2010. 

He passed the entrance exam in 2012 and was admitted to the Language and Literature Faculty, English Department of Paktia University, graduating from the mentioned university in 2016. Mr. Noor Jamal Mubarakzai was appointed as a teacher at Hesarat Primary School in the Samkania district of Paktia province through free competition in 2011.

After one year of service in Hesarak Primary School, he transferred his duty to Ragha Primary School in the year 2012. After one year of service at Ragha Primary School, he transferred to Halim Qala High School as a teacher, and after one year of service in this school, he was transferred to Tera-e-Baghshah High School, where he taught as a teacher until 2020. Also, he has worked as a contract and volunteer teacher in the English departments of language and literature and the Education Faculties of Paktia University from 2017 to 2019. 

After nine years of service in the field of education, Mr. Noor Jamal Mubarakzi was appointed as an academic Cadre member in the English Department of Education Faculty Education at Logar Higher Education Institute in 2020. Until now, he has continued his sacred duty in this academic foundation. 

Profile of Junior Teaching Assistant Mohammad Tamim Muzamil

The academic cadre member of the English Language and Literature Department, Education Faculty, Logar Institute of Higher Education, Junior Teaching Assistant Mohammad Tamim Muzamil, was born to a pious family in Zewalat village, Jalreez district, Maidan Wardak province, in 1372. He graduated from Zewalat High School in 1391 after completing his primary and secondary studies and was admitted to the English Language and Literature Department, Education Faculty, Kandahar University, through the Kankoor examination in 1393. Afterward, Sir Muzamil graduated with the highest rank from the mentioned department in 1397. After graduation, he taught at Hazrat Asim (May Allah be pleased with Him), a private high school, and at Classic and Zaland Educational centers. In 1399, through a competitive exam, Mr. Muzamil landed the position of lecturer at the English Language and Literature Department, Education Faculty, Logar Institute of Higher Education. He so far carries on the sacred job of teaching in this academic foundation.
