Mining Engineering Department
Vision:
We will educate the best students through higher education, peaceful and with a good research environment by experienced academic staff members, so that they will be able to lead the society in various scientific, economic and cultural fields.
Mission:
The mission of the department is not only to develop the l knowledge level of the students of mining engineering accordance with the higher education laws, but also to equip and supply the material and spiritual department and develop the capacity of the scientific and administrative staff.
Department History
The Mining Engineering Department was created and started operating in the year 2020 in order to train mining engineers in the field of technical extraction and beneficiation of mineral raw materials in the country. This department trains experts in the field’s extraction of coal mines, ferrous metals, colored and precious and semi-precious stones, constructional stones in open pit and underground methods and presents them to the society.
Based on development plan of the Ministry of Higher Education and market needs, the credit system is used in this department, and since the department is new established, it does not have any graduated students yet. The duration of study in this department is 9 semesters or four and a half years, and the last semester is dedicated to defending the diploma project.
Currently, the lecturers whose names are mentioned below are busy in the teaching process:
- assistant lecturer Safiullah Miakhil, Head of the Department
- assistant lecturer Sayedullah Safi
Two other lecturers will be included in the scientific staff of the department through the vacancies which are in open competition.
Safiullah Miakhil Biography:
Safiullah Miakhil, the son of Mir Atta and the grandson of Marjan, was born in 1995 in a religious family in Paghman district of Kabul province.
Education:
In 2012, he graduated from Khawaja Lakan High School and in 2014, he was admitted to the mining department of the Faculty of Geology and Mines of Kabul Polytechnic University and then graduated in B grad in 2018.
Safiullah Miakhil joined Logar University of Higher Education in 2021 as a lecturer in Mining Engineering Department of Geology and Mines Faculty.
Mr. Safiullah Miakhil can speak and write in Dari, Pashto and English languages.
