Background of the Faculty of Education
Based on the proposal of the honorable officials of the Ministry of Higher Education No. (575), dated 13/12/1392, and the decree of the Office of the President of the former government No. (1200), dated 20/02/1393, the Faculty of Education of Logar University commenced its academic and educational activities with two departments entitled Mathematics–Physics and Chemistry–Biology. During its initial period, the faculty conducted teaching activities through these two departments for two years.
Subsequently, based on Letter No. (114) of the Directorate of Legislation and Institutional Development, dated 09/04/1394, and the decision of the Academic Board dated 08/04/1398, the two departments were divided into four separate departments: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
Thereafter, based on the approval of the High Council of Public Higher Education Institutions, No. (5), dated 15/05/1398, Clause (17), two non-degree-granting departments, Islamic Culture and English Language and Literature, were established within the Faculty of Education.
Subsequently, based on Letter No. (126) of the Ministry of Higher Education, dated 14/06/1398, evening programs in the Biology and Mathematics departments were also launched within the faculty, opening their doors to students.
As part of the faculty's recent developments, based on the approval of the High Council of the Ministry, No. (2622/1069), dated 02/02/1402, Clause (8), the Computer Science Department was established within the Faculty of Education. In addition, the non-degree-granting Department of Islamic Culture was upgraded to a degree-granting department and approved under the title Islamic Sciences and Culture.
Currently, the Faculty of Education consists of seven degree-granting departments, in which experienced faculty members with strong academic qualifications and professional expertise effectively undertake the responsibilities of educating students, conducting academic research, and managing administrative affairs.
To date, the faculty has had the honor of graduating hundreds of students over eight graduating cohorts and contributing qualified graduates to the country's academic and professional sectors.
