The department of English language and literature is going to educate professional and talented personalities who will be able to fulfil the needs of the society in English language realm at national level.
:Mission
The overall mission of the English department is to promote literacy—especially the ability to read, write and speak in English language.
Background:
The Department of English Language and Literature was entered into the framework of the Faculty of Education as a non-graduate department based on the approval of (5) number 15/08/1398 dated (17) of the Supreme Council of Civil Higher Education Institutions. The teachers were appointed on 15/02/1400 and started their activities after this date. The aforementioned department currently has three Junior Teaching Assistant Lecturers among which Rafiullah Mahjoor is acting as the acting Head of the Department.
Strategic objectives:
1. Providing quality education in English language and literature to students with the help of modern educational equipment.
2. Conducting capacity building programs for department members and students.
3. Providing various English language programs to teachers of other faculties of Logar Institute of Higher Education in order to increase their knowledge level in their profession with the help of English language.
4. Encouraging students to conduct researches in the field of English language.
